I'm Back!!!!

Ok so I took a break thanks to the holidays...I work in a church...Christmas here is a little like tax season for an accountant. A friend of mine told me I may get struck by lightning for saying that but then my brilliant boyfriend pointed out that Christmas was tax season for Mary and Joseph so I'm not as much a heathen as originally thought. Not that I was worried...

Christmas was a whirlwind thanks to family and friends being in town. And trying to get my house ready to be rented. Which I am praying happens soon...it seems silly to pay for an empty house. We'll see.

I plan on being more diligent in my writing from now on although life seems to get in the way.

I'm just saying...

Fudge n' Cookies

So I got up with J this morning as usual...although I had a strange wake-up call of him singing the Marilyn Monroe version of "Happy Birthday." But it worked...I got up with a smile on my face. And I was productive this morning...
~ I made a batch of fudge
~ I made a batch of Andes Chocolate Mint Cookies
~ I made a batch of peanut butter kiss cookies
Now I only have Spiced Tea, Ting-A-Lings, and Angel Cookies to make. Then I can send goodies off to the family. Whoo hoo.

My Personality

Youniverse Personality TestYouniverse Personality Test

Little Family vs. Big Family

So when I was younger I wanted a big family. I was jealous of my friends who had big family gatherings at grandma's house, etc. My family consisted of my parents, my brother, and myself. We were a military family so we were never near extended family so holidays we usually pretty simple and small as far as number of people. This seemed like a bad thing until now...

Now I my significant other has 7 brothers and sisters and I'm baking goodies for all of them. I love it and I'm excited to do it but I'm also a bit overwhelmed at the number of cookies, fudge pieces, etc involved. It will work I know it will but Christmas is coming.

But I love them all (at least the ones I've met) so I wouldn't change it for the world.

Cuddle Time

Most mornings I get up with J when he goes to work at 6:00 AM and then stay up with our dog Eva so she's in her crate less. This morning we had cuddle time on the couch. We used to do it all the time when she was a baby but then she could lay on my chest and I could still breathe...now she has to lay on the couch between my legs but we still love our time together. And who wouldn't love this girl.

Yummy

So I love to cook for other people...I stink at cooking for myself...Lean Cuisine or McDonald's made up my menu most of the time. Now I'm actually considering making at least a weekly menu...may move up to a monthly but let's not get crazy. Last weekend I tried a recipe from another Blog...it was fantastic. We loved it but we love pasta, booze, and spice and this had all three. I recommend you try it. It is fairly easy mostly just waiting on things to mix in. But it was awesome!!!
