MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

This week’s questions are:

1. Underwear Parties, how old is too old? submitted by Wookie & Co.
Not sure about this question but I'm thinking it is slumber parties so I agree with Wife of a Sailor never!

2. What was your favorite class in high school? submitted by Adventures of M-Squared
English because I loved writing

3. Have you ever convinced packers/movers to pack something they aren’t supposed to for a PCS? submitted by Ground Control to Major Mom
I've had movers pack all sorts of things just because they were there.

4. Blogging plays a growing roll in the media. If you were asked to embed as a blogger with a deployed military unit, would you go? What do you think your blog would be like? submitted by To the Nth
Yes I would go. I think the blog would be tricky because you'd have to balance public vs private

5. Do you think kids should attend year-round school? submitted by Marrying the Navy
I think this would be a good idea because kids would have more breaks throughout the year instead of a long summer breaks and information would remain fresh in their minds.

This week’s questions are:
1. When you vacation what type of vacation do you like to take (beach, historic, adventurous, food oriented, etc.)? submitted by Megan Dub-Yuh
I like the destination not the journey. So I like the beach but adventurous would be good too.

2. What is your best memory associated with a song (you know we all have tons!)? submitted by Ramblings of a Marine Wife
I have two...our first dance song which is Then by Brad Paisley. It makes me tear up.
Then my second is Don't Stop Believing by Journey. It reminds me of us because I'm a small town girl and he's a Detroit boy.

3. If you had six months with no obligations or financial constraints, what would you do with your time? submitted by Married to the Army
We would travel. Particularly we would end up in Ireland and stay for a month or two. My heart longs for Ireland.

4. What is one thing about you that people do NOT typically notice at first that you wish they would? submitted by Our Motto is Patience
Hmm this is a tough one. I guess I'd say I wish more people would realize that just because I'm a woman doesn't mean I don't know about typically male based things ie. cars, house repairs, etc

5.   …. submitted by The Three TurnersIt’s a summer of sequels, and if you had to live in one of each of the following “worlds” (there are three total) which would you choose and why?
–X-Men: Be a Mutant, what would your power be? I'd say I'd want the power to read minds like Dr. Xavior.
–Harry Potter: Be a Witch or Muggle?  Witch...the ability to do spells would be great
–Twilight: Be a Vampire or Werewolf? Having never watched this series I'm not sure how they are depicted but I'd say Vampire because I like their abilities better

Hi there! I'm back...

Howdy...Hello...Hi...Hola...Bon Jour...Aloha...

It's been a while since I've posted a real post. I miss it. I have been reading all my favorite blogs so I still feel connected but I miss the writing...I have excuses some good...some not...but all there.

  1. Work has been insane...we are constantly busy and I'm tied to my desk which makes me feel less encouraged to be on a computer when I get home.
  2. I came down with a nasty flu bug.
  3. I had to get my house ready to welcome home my husband.
  4. Oh yeah and that...I welcomed home my husband. {big grins}He's all mine...although I do have to give him back to the Navy before too long.
  5. Our hot water heater died. And we were dealing with that.
Some observations....

It amazed me how much time and energy it took to get the house picked-up. It is just me but it gets cluttered quick. Mainly because I walk in...drop my stuff...take care of puppies...fix dinner...relax for the evening. So it gets cluttered and then it takes time to get it uncluttered. Much like weightloss.

Speaking of...the week before he got home my eating was nuts...sometimes I ate...sometimes I didn't...sometimes I ate junk...sometimes I ate healthy. Now that he's home...I have better eating habits. I've lost 2 1/2 pounds since last Thursday.

It is amazing to me how quickly we hit our groove again. It's like he never left. I know we're in a honeymoon period but I"m good with that.

He is the dogs favorite...they miss him when he's gone. They are happy to be home.

It is hard to go to work when you're husband and dogs are relaxing at home.

Life is good.

MilSpouse Weekly Fill-In

 {Imagine the logo picture here}

This week’s questions are:
1. It’s now June (woot!)… what plans do you have for the summer?
Well my hubby is coming home for R&R so that is my big plan for the summer at least the month he's home.

2. What is your favorite summer memory as a kid?
Going to the pool/lake to go swimming. I loved spending the day swimming then on our way home we'd stop and get pizza.

3. If wild animals could be made pets without fear of them ever being dangerous, what kind of exotic animal would you want as a pet?
I'd say a lioness.

4. Is there anything about deployments that you do like? submitted by The Thrifty Military Wife
Being able to watch what I want and learning that yeah I really can take care of it. (whatever it may be)

5. I’m starting to run out of questions again… so please give me a question you’d like to see (off-the-wall will most likely make it because we seem to have used a lot of the “traditional” ones).
If you could pick any career for your spouse (other than the military) what would it be and why?

What part of military life can you just not imagine your life without?

If you could live any place in the world where would you live?

What is one thing your spouse understands about you better than anyone else?
